Essential Requirements
Vaccination Category: A
Checks: National Police Check and Working with Children Check
Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling
Registration: Eligibility for appropriate professional registration or association membership.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated counselling experience working in child protection or related service delivery settings, with capacity to draw on a wide range of therapeutic modalities.
- Demonstrated high level assessment, case formulation, intervention planning (including case management) and counselling skills with children, young people and adults, with capacity to implement a range of therapeutic models.
- Demonstrated high level understanding of the inter-related dynamics and effects of physical abuse and neglect, sexual assault and domestic violence and a commitment to integrated models for working with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse.
- Knowledge and understanding of current policies and legislation relating to child protection and other forms of interpersonal violence and knowledge of legal systems involved in child protection service provision.
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated capacity to work with in partnership with others.
- Experience in, or commitment to, working with individuals and families from indigenous backgrounds and/or diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Current Driver’s License valid in Australia
