What you'll be doing
Therapy for Kids & Families (TKF) is a specialist children's mental health service operating across Auburn, Westmead, and Mt Druitt. The Clinical Psychologist role involves:

  • Providing assessments and interventions for children with complex emotional and behavioural issues.
  • Delivering therapeutic and psychiatric support to children and families.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including education and community services.
  • Developing comprehensive treatment plans in partnership with families.
  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic, community-based mental health care.

Essential Requirements

Qualification: Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology
Registration: Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and area of practice endorsement

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and full registration as Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency AHPRA and endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology
  2. Extensive experience in working therapeutically with children and families who present with significant emotional, behavioural, and/or mental health difficulties including family therapy and dyadic carer-child therapy
  3. Demonstrated evidence-based skills in the assessment and treatment of children and their families presenting with complex mental health issues in a developmental framework
  4. Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and ability to build therapeutic relationships
  5. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with other service providers to achieve optimal outcomes for children and families
  6. Demonstrated experience and well developed skills in the use of a range of standardised psychometric measures administered as a part of a comprehensive assessment of clients referred to the service
  7. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence and willingness to use for work purposes
