Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Cumberland and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing

  • The Clinical Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for coordinating service delivery & patient flow through Drug Health Services on a day to day basis. This involves careful communication & coordination of the multidisciplinary team to ensure patient assessment & treatment is conducted in a timely & efficient manner.
  • The Clinical Nurse Manager is an expert resource for the other nursing staff within Drug Health, providing supervision, support and guidance to nursing staff in relation to clinical care & the patient journey. 
    In addition, the Clinical Unit Managers as a team will be responsible for overseeing specific management portfolios within Drug Health contributing to the professional development of themselves & others as well as ensuring ongoing monitoring/enhancement of the Department Services & provide support as needed to the DHS NUM.

Essential Requirements

  • Registration:  Current registration with AHPRA as a Division 1 Registered Nurse


Selection Criteria

  1. Recent extensive clinical experience in Drug Health.
  2. Relevant post graduate qualifications or working towards same and/or relevant experience in senior leadership role.
  3. Demonstrated excellent organisational, time management & decision-making skills.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently & as part of a multidisciplinary team and supervise & coordinate the work of other staff.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently & as part of a multidisciplinary team and supervise & coordinate the work of other staff
  6. Computer literacy including a sound working knowledge of eMR.
  7. Commitment to education and professional development of self and others with a demonstrated commitment to quality improvement.
