Remuneration: $131.870.90 - $134,500.69 per annum
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

What you'll be doing

  • The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a clinical expert who, through leadership facilitates excellence in research based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership.
  • The Clinical Nurse Consultant will be responsible for the facilitation and seamless coordination of care processes for patients at risk of viral hepatitis C and associated health issues across the care continuum. 
  • The Clinical Nurse Consultant will also provide clinical supervision and support of drug health service and needle & syringe program staff

Essential Requirements

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency – Registered Nurse Division 1 with Five (5) years full time equivalent post registration experience with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field. In addition the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation


Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise competing work requirements across a variety of settings.
  2. A proven ability to implement change and develop direction in clinical practice through the utilisation of evidence based practice.
  3. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and an ability to contribute positively as a member of the multidisciplinary team
  4. Demonstrated ability to think critically and lead quality improvement strategies
  5. Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of health education resources.
  6. Demonstrated experience in the development of community based care models and implementation of nurse led clinics.
  7. Drivers Licence Class C with the willingness to drive the community outreach van, and provide fibroscan services once training provided.
