What you'll be doing
WSLHD Drug Health Service offers a range of treatment and support services for people with problems related to their substance use as well as to their families and carers.
- The Drug Health Clinical/Forensic Psychologist is responsible for the provision of specialist psychological assessment and therapy for comorbid substance use and mental health issues. This position contributes to the care of clients within a multidisciplinary team under the direction and supervision of the Drug Health Psychology Team Leader, and the Allied Health Manager.

Essential Requirements
- Qualification: Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology.
- Registration: General Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Selection Criteria
- Well-developed skills in assessment and formulation of complex presentations including psychometric and interview based assessment.
- Well-developed skills in the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based psychological behaviour management and psychological interventions for consumers with substance use and mental health issues.
- Well-developed skills in the development and facilitation of group therapy programs.
- An understanding of the principles and practices of health care delivery as they apply to the Drug and Alcohol field, including standard treatment approaches and broad concepts such as harm-minimisation.
- Well-developed skills in the development and management of research projects including data analysis and reporting results of research projects to appropriate publication standards.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Demonstrated sound computer skills.
- Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
