Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing
The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is the key leadership position responsible for the day to day operational management of the child and family nursing service. The NUM provides clear directional leadership and informed advice for ongoing service development initiatives, service delivery and quality client care, with a strong commitment to develop and implement workforce strategies that promote, attract and retain nurses that support current model of care and models into the future.

The NUM has a duty of care to staff to ensure that there is a safe working environment and that staff are developed appropriately to meet the service demands and to realise their potential.

Registration in line with Award requirements: Current enrolment with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Registered Nurse Division 1

Selection Criteria:
  1. Demonstrated post graduate qualifications in a clinical speciality relevant to Child and Family Health. Management qualifications and/or working towards or a combination of qualifications and work
    experience deemed appropriate by employer and holds a NSW Drivers Licence
  2. Demonstrated experience in Child and Family Health with knowledge and understanding of the current strategies and policies that impact on maternal and child health.
  3. Highly developed communication, coaching and facilitation skills.
  4. Demonstrated experience working with seniors, clinicians and managers within a large complex environment, with a proven track record in building rapport and establishing trust.
  5. Demonstrated people management, influencing and negotiation skills including leading, persuading and motivating large teams and other key stakeholders for a positive outcome.
  6. Demonstrated ability to evaluate clinical services and manage change
  7. Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for nursing/maternity services.
  8. Demonstrated computer literacy and confidence in using Microsoft and health care information systems.
