Selection Criteria
- Must have Australian Citizenship or permanent Australian Residency and possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Qualified for employment as a staff specialist, as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award, on the basis of Fellowship of one of the following:
- the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP)
- the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (FRANZCP)
- the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or
- other relevant College fellowship
- Specialist qualification in Addiction Medicine (Fellowship of the Chapter of Addiction Medicine – FAChAM) or certification in Addiction Psychiatry or equivalent or expectation that this will be conferred in the near future.
- Sound clinical knowledge and experience in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an appropriate clinical context, including in opioid agonist treatment.
- Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including, but not limited to:
- High level interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability working effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience and involvement in clinical governance, quality assurance and evidence-based practice and
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, supervision and research.
- Familiarity with research concepts and a commitment to applied and clinical research.
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, the implementation of best practice and clinical service innovation.
- Knowledge and understanding of accreditation, incident monitoring, complaints management and workplace health and safety.
