What you'll be doing
As a Registered Nurse, you’ll deliver person-centred, evidence-informed care to patients with a range of ophthalmic and associated health needs. You’ll work closely with patients, carers and the wider healthcare team to ensure safe, effective and culturally responsive care.
In your role you will be:
Assessing, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care collaboratively.
Maintaining accurate documentation and uphold professional standards.
Supporting and mentor junior nursing staff and students.
Promoting open communication and contribute to team development.
Engaging in continuous improvement and uphold NSW Health values.
Organising inter- and intra-hospital patient transfers and assist with minor procedures.
Providing post-operative care and patient education.
Supporting the broader operational needs of the department.

Essential Criteria:
Registration: Currently authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
- Recent relevant experience in clinical setting as deemed appropriate by WSLHD
- Opthalmology and wound dressing skills desirable but not essential.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients
- Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail
- Evidence of computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems
