What you'll be doing
Join a dedicated team leading the charge in communicable disease prevention and control across Western Sydney. Make a direct impact on public health and clinical outcomes.
- Investigating and responding to disease outbreaks and cases
- Providing expert public health and clinical advice
- Implementing and monitoring control strategies
- Engaging in state-wide health initiatives and research
- Participating in professional development and on-call rosters
How to Apply
Essential Criteria:
- License: Current motor vehicle driver’s license and willingness to drive
- Qualification: At least 2 years recent experience working in Public Health or Infection Control
- Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge of current issues in communicable disease and experience in communicable disease control
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor other staff
- Demonstrated organisational and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with the public, Health Professionals, Aged Care Facilities and other stakeholders external to the Public Health Unit
- Computer literacy including experience with Microsoft Office package and experience with computerised data management systems
