A Day in the Life

  •  Oversee rosters, timesheets, leave, onboarding, and staff records while liaising with HR, payroll, IT, and other departments
  • Coordinate meetings, manage calendars, handle travel bookings, and support urgent admin needs in a fast-paced ED
  •  Input patient data, run reports using Cerner, HealthRoster, Stafflink, and iPM, and manage phones, emails, documents, and supplies
  • Prioritise tasks and stay organised while supporting a dynamic clinical team


No two days are the same — your calm, organised approach will help keep the ED running smoothly.

Selection Criteria

  1. Describe your experience in administrative or secretarial roles, particularly within a healthcare or hospital setting. Certificate III in Health Administration or experience in health administration role.
  2. Provide an example of a time when you were required to manage multiple tasks or competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  3. Demonstrated excellent written communication skills including preparation of reports, briefings, minutes and agendas, spreadsheets, and databases.
  4. What hospital software applications and systems are you proficient in using in the use of computer applications including HPRM, Outlook, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) and familiarity with  rostering, and procurement systems
  5. Why is patient privacy and confidentiality important in a hospital setting, and how do you ensure you maintain it in your day-to-day work?
