Based in the heart of country NSW in the growing regional city of either Orange or Dubbo, you will be the linchpin of Western NSW Local Health District’s ground-breaking, flagship model of proactive virtual healthcare.

Being at the helm of clinical support you will provide expert critical care via the latest video conferencing facilities. Patients across more than 30 rural and remote hospitals in Western NSW would benefit from your expertise in this role.

You will empower those around you as you work closely with clinicians and transport employees, while also assisting with ongoing education and training during the rollout of an exciting new model of care.

Where you'll be working

What you'll be doing
The consultant will provide both reactive and proactive, best practice and timely emergency and critical care advice to Western NSW LHD hospitals using innovative Telehealth platforms.

To apply, please address the following Selection Criteria
  1. Evidence of being a MEDICAL EXPERT, including: • Medical Degree registerable with the Medical Board of Australia, • Fellowship of either; ACEM, CICM, ANZCA or equivalent; • Experience and competence in relevant areas of critical care medicine including adult, acute inpatient and paediatric.
  2. Evidence of being a good COMMUNICATOR, including having appropriate skills in verbal and written communication and the use of computer and telemedicine technology.
  3. Evidence of being a COLLABORATOR in working with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, medical colleagues, other health professionals, and relevant government and non-government agencies.
  4. Evidence of being a MANAGER, including as clinical leader, as clinical supervisor of a multidisciplinary team, and in performing required management and administrative tasks; able to work within clinical governance structures and participate in efforts for clinical quality improvement.
  5. Evidence of being an ADVOCATE for patients, families and carers, and of applying the principles of illness prevention and health promotion in your work.
  6. Evidence of being a SCHOLAR, including commitment to continuing medical education and professional development, being a mentor to junior colleagues, and educating other health professionals, students, patients and their families.
  7. Evidence of being a PROFESSIONAL, including adhering to ethical conduct and practice, complying with relevant policies and guidelines, and behaving at all times with integrity, honesty, compassion and respect for others.
  8. Hold a Drivers Licence valid in NSW and be prepared to travel as a requirement of the position.
