- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for own actions and to practice in accordance with the Registered Nurse Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia).
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with post graduate qualifications in Sexual Health and Vaccination or willingness to obtain within agreed timeframe.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of communicable disease control, harm reduction, and issues related to transmission and prevention of HIV, STIs and Blood Borne Viruses (BBV’s).
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written and verbal means with sound interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
- An understanding of patient centred care and demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team.
- A commitment to quality improvement, practice development, evidence-based practice and research.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, delegate, and negotiate with others to deliver quality nursing care to clients accessing sexual health services.
- Current license to drive in NSW and willingness to travel to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.
