- Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and an understanding of the role of the Child and Family Health Nurse and commitment to the principles of a primary healthcare framework including current clinical experience or willingness to work within a primary or community nursing setting.
- Understanding of the skills and requirements of planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of health promotion and/or parenting programs.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written, verbal means and sound interpersonal skills with the capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability in clinical problem solving including continuous quality improvement with the ability to comprehensively conduct assessments, develop a plan for nursing practice, provide safe, appropriate and responsive quality nursing practice and evaluates outcomes to inform nursing practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to own professional development and understanding of the commitment required and acceptance into the training program to maintain, improve and broaden knowledge, experience, competence and capability and develop the personal and professional qualities required in Child and Family Health through the use of research and evidence based practice reflecting an understanding of contemporary matters.
- Demonstrated engagement in therapeutic and professional relationships, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in a rural health setting including a current licence to drive in NSW and a willingness to travel for work purposes.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the First 2000 days Integrated Model of Care and requirements in relation to the Child and Family Health specialty.
- Ability to complete the Child & Family Health Nursing qualification within 12 months of commencement in this position, including acceptance into a recognised course and the authority to immunise or completion within 18 months of commencement by negotiation.
