Coonamble Multi-Purpose Service

About the role

Our rural based multipurpose sites are small hospitals and some also contain aged care. Rural nurses work across settings in emergency, acute care, aged care, chronic disease, child health, primary care, mental health, dialysis, palliative, and health promotion. Nurse work in small teams or on their own, supported 24/7 by a world leading virtual care model utilising state of the art telehealth technology.

Rural nursing is nurse-led care, so nurses are a key part of the decision-making process for client care and have more influence on healthcare delivery.

Rural nurses are called on to respond to a broader range of emergency and health needs, hence are encouraged and supported to develop skills to work the top of their scope of practice, experiencing far greater autonomy than in larger hospitals.

Rural nursing is extremely rewarding as you build personal relationships with patients and are responsible for holistic care, taking care from start to finish - patients do not get swept away to a specialist ward as occurs in a referral hospital.  By directly influencing care across the lifespan and health continuum of their community rural nurses are respected and valued members of their hometowns.

This is an Emergency and Acute Nursing role. Previous emergency experience and First Line Emergency Certificate is preferable.
