About the opportunity
As a Radiation Therapist you will be joining a young, dynamic and forward thinking team that is utilising the latest techniques and technologies including SABR, RapidPlan, 3D printing, scripting and automation to make a difference to the people of the Central West.

 

Located in Central West NSW, just over 3 hours from the capital and nearby coast lines, it has a regional airport which runs regular flights daily to Sydney, and Monday to Friday flights to Brisbane QLD and Melbourne VIC.

Cancer Services in Western NSW Local Health District have experienced dramatic growth over the last decade.  We have improved local access to care, seen the commencement of Radiation Oncology treatment services, a significant expansion of our workforce, and the development of a highly successful new cancer clinical trials unit based in Orange.  Our Cancer Services are provided from Dubbo, Orange and Bathurst, with outreach treatment clinics in Mudgee, Parkes, Coonabarabran and Cowra.

The Level 2 Radiation Therapist will competently perform as an accredited practitioner during Radiation Therapy Simulation, Planning, Treatment and Quality Assurance procedures, providing patient centered healthcare in line with evidence based practices.

To apply, please address the following Selection Criteria


  1. Successful completion of a degree in Medical Radiation Science or equivalent qualification recognised by Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Good communication and interpersonal skills both spoken and written, able to relate with patients, visitors and the various staff groups within the hospital.
  3. Experience with high energy Linear Accelerators equipped with On - Board Imaging and experience with 3D Treatment Planning Systems interfacing with Radiation Therapy CT Scanners.
  4. Demonstrated ability to cope with dynamic and changing work practices including flexibility in work hours and location.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in small teams while also displaying self-motivation and initiative.
  6. Demonstrated ongoing professional development and knowledge of current trends and developments in Radiation Therapy techniques and technology.
  7. Current licence to drive in NSW with the ability to drive for work purposes.
