You’ll learn on the job and be supported to develop your skills and certification to advance a career as a pharmacy assistant/technician.
As a pharmacy assistant/technician, you’ll be responsible for inventory supply, storage, dispensary and pre-packing of pharmaceuticals. This role is task based with a structure throughout the day and rotation through ward supply and dispensary. You’ll supply medications safely and efficiently to wards and departments to support the pharmacy team in the care of our patients and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient dispensing records.
Working with the pharmacy team, you’ll communicate effectively with patients and carers and appreciate the principles of medication safety. As a part of the wider team in a very active hospital, you’ll have a variety of interactions and diversity in your work every day, in a community that values your contribution to their care.
We offer weekday working hours, Monday to Friday with no weekend or shift work required. We will support you with training and development, including study leave days to gain your certifications, scholarship opportunities, structured training and development and networking groups to advance your career.
