About the role
The Exercise Physiologist – Mental Health Drug and Alcohol (MHDA) position provide consumers who have lived experience of mental illness and or addiction with an enhanced opportunity for improved physical health outcomes.
The successful applicant(s) would have available support by the Allied Health team at Bloomfield Hospital – Orange Health Service and the Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology Department at the General Hospital - Orange Health Service.
You would work in collaboration with these teams to deliver appropriate, supportive and safe physical activity and behavioural coaching to our consumers. There are numerous resources available to be utilised in this setting such as access to several gyms, bikes, sport fields, swimming pool, and sporting equipment as required.
Bloomfield Hospital - Orange Health Service is the one of the largest inpatient Mental Health Drug and Alcohol facilities for New South Wales. The inpatient units provide a statewide or district service to adolescents, adults and older people with mental illnesses, mental disorders, drug and alcohol abuse and dependence. At Bloomfield Hospital you will be part of a large and supportive multidisciplinary team.
The MHDA team consist of 2 Exercise Physiologists, 1 Senior Physiotherapist and 1 rotating level 1/2 Physiotherapist. You will work closely with wards and staff across other disciplines in allied health, medicine, and nursing.
