About the role
The Occupational & Diversional Therapy department at the Bloomfield Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol Service is a friendly and dynamic team comprising of Occupational Therapists, Diversional Therapists, and Allied Health Assistants.

Working closely with the other diversional therapists as well as the greater team and as part of a large multidisciplinary team you are committed to providing all consumers with holistic, evidence based care that focuses on patient safety and engagement.

As a Diversional Therapist, you will work within a range of mental health clinical areas including Acute Care, Rehabilitation, Forensic Mental Health. Drug & Alcohol as well as Child & Adolescent Mental Health care. Our activity centre is where most diversional therapy groups are based with the scope to do group or individual sessions on the units or within other spaces. Our department is led by managers who believe in the importance of flexible work practise and ensuring staff have in place a good work life balance which improves on staff satisfaction and team culture.

We support and encourage our clinicians to engage in continuing professional development, much of which is provided internally as well as through supporting paid attendance as courses whether online or face to face.
