About the Opportunity
An opportunity exists for a skilled and dedicated speech pathologist to join our community-based team with TACP.

TACP is a restorative, goal directed program that works with older people requiring additional, short-term support after a hospital admission.

The team comprises of other allied health professionals, registered nurses, and allied health assistants.  

The successful applicant will provide a high-quality service to aged care and rehabilitation clients for a range of communication and swallowing disorders.

  

What You'll be Doing
To provide a high quality speech pathology service to patients/clients and their carers to ensure optimal health outcomes. This encompasses ensuring effective and efficient assessment and intervention in a multidisciplinary setting. The speech pathologist is also responsible for undertaking designated non-clinical tasks to support service delivery including clinical supervision, quality improvement activities and administrative tasks.

  1. Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer
  2. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  3. Knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to implement the quality improvement process.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and time management.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and commitment to evidence based practice.
  6. Demonstrated clinical knowledge, experience and skills in communication and swallowing assessment and management in paediatrics and/or adult caseloads.
  7. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in modifying and adapting assessments and interventions to meet the need of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations.
  8. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
