About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available to join the Environmental Health team at our Liverpool Office as a Senior Environmental Health Officer. You will undertake a range of Environmental Health duties and activities in an expanding and developing part of Sydney.

What You'll be Doing
Co-ordinate, facilitate, implement and monitor environmental health tasks related to the Public Health Act 2010, the Public Health Regulation 2022, Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2008 and the Smoke-free Environment Act 2000, and other legislation and emergency management in the Local Health District. Such activities relate to the areas of legionella control, public swimming pools, skin penetration, funeral industries, on-site wastewater management, tobacco and e-cigarette control, smoke-free environments, general hygiene and emergency management.

How to Apply

  1. A degree or equivalent in Science in Environmental Health.
  2. Extensive experience in managing a range of Environmental Health issues, particularly health risk assessment and environmental management and knowledge of relevant public health legislation.
  3. Knowledge of environmental health policy, public health and environmental legislation as it applies to health and a strong interest in undertaking public health research.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to cultivate relationships with stakeholders.
  5. Ability to meet deadlines, adapt to situations, respond to emergencies and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Experience in managing staff.
  7. Appropriate computer, database and research skills. Ability to use Microsoft Office.
  8. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
