About the Opportunity
Take the lead in a specialized and impactful role. As the Section Senior Radiographer, you’ll oversee imaging excellence within the Cardiac Catheter Lab, specializing in angiography and interventional cardiology. Collaborating with the Director of the Cath Lab, Head of Cardiology, and Nurse Unit Manager, and professionally reporting to the Chief Radiographer, you’ll ensure precision and reliability in diagnostic imaging to support critical patient care.

This role is central to coordinating imaging workflows, maintaining compliance of state-of-the-art radiological equipment, and fostering clear and effective communication with patients, staff, and referrers. What You'll be Doing
The Section Senior Radiographer leads imaging within a speciality clinical unit for Angiography/ Interventional Cardiology in the Cardiac Catheter Lab. Working under the direction of the Director of the Cath Lab, Head of Cardiology and Nurse Unit Manager, and professionally reporting to the Chief Radiographer.
 
The role is accountable for high standards of imaging to support the provision of efficient and effective services and to maintain and ensure compliance of radiological equipment. It is responsible for accurate and timely diagnostic information to medical staff on a routine and emergency basis to support the patient's medical management.
 
The Section Senior will ensure coordination of imaging workflow within the clinical specialty and strong and effective communication between staff, patients and referrers. The position is responsible for the orientation, supervision and training of medical radiation scientists, technical assistant staff, students and other health professionals within the clinical specialist area.

Liverpool Hospital, established in 1813, serves as the primary healthcare provider for south-western Sydney. It caters to the Liverpool City Council area and offers district services to both local residents and visitors. Additionally, the hospital delivers specialized statewide care in critical areas like trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation.

Recognized for its international standard of healthcare, the hospital features 23 operating theatres and a capacity of 877 beds. Its comprehensive services include diagnostic and imaging, emergency and trauma care, maternity, pediatric care, cancer treatment, mental health services, ambulatory care, allied health, as well as medical and surgical support for individuals across all age groups, from infancy to aged care.

Currently undergoing a transformative redevelopment, the $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project aims to expand the hospital’s capacity and enhance its facilities to accommodate the anticipated population growth in south-western Sydney.

As a principal referral and teaching hospital, Liverpool Hospital is affiliated with UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, and it hosts students from over 20 universities and colleges. Conveniently located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is easily accessible via public transport and is surrounded by shopping centers and eateries.

  1. Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science degree or equivalent with current Medical Radiation Practitioner Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Valid NSW EPA Radiation User Licence.
  3. Demonstrated extensive knowledge, expertise and experience in the area of specialisation including Angiography in Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory or Interventional Radiology.
  4. Demonstrated service delivery experience and effective prioritisation and organisation of workload in a complex clinical setting.
  5. Demonstrated high level interpersonal communication and leadership skills applied to a patient environment as well as vendor relationships.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice and participation in continuous quality improvement.
  7. Demonstrated active participation and involvement in professional development program.
