About the Opportunity

The South Western Sydney Nursing and Midwifery Research Alliance (SWS NMRA) is seeking a highly skilled Research Administrative Assistant with a strong background in health research to provide exceptional organizational and research support to our Chair and dynamic research team.

 

Your Role
In this vital position, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive research and administrative support to the Chair and research staff, ensuring seamless daily operations.
  • Assist in designing and implementing efficient administrative systems to support the expansion of the research unit.
  • Play an active role in fostering a collaborative and productive research environment, contributing to the success of innovative projects.

  • Experience in health or medical research, with an understanding of research processes such as ethics submissions, grant applications, and data management.
  • Proven expertise in administrative coordination, ideally within a research unit or institute.

What You'll be Doing
The Research Administrative Officer has the overall day to day management responsibility in supporting the research unit and is responsible for the implementation of administrative processes necessary for smooth running of the office, Importantly this position will act as a first point of contact for senior members of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, universities, plus a range of contacts at all levels from all research stakeholders and hospital staff liaising with the medical team.

  1. Completion of a Certificate IV level qualification or a combination of relevant education/training and/or extensive experience in a similar role.
  2. Demonstrated high level experience in the use of all Microsoft Office software with excellent data entry and attention to detail.
  3. Demonstrated experience in office management and administration skills.
  4. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work and complete tasks within tight timeframes.
  5. Demonstrated high level written communication skills, preferably with previous experience in the preparation of research grant applications or other complex documents.
  6. High level of verbal communication skills at various levels.
  7. Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement with regard to the release of information on confidential matters.
  8. Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment with minimal supervision.
