About The Opportunity

The SWSLHD Court Diversion Programs Manager provides management and leadership to the Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment (MERIT) and Drug Court programs. The successful applicant will be based at the George Street Liverpool Drug Health Services, with teams offering Court Diversion programs across the district. What You'll Be Doing

The primary purpose of this position is to provide management and leadership support to the Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment (MERIT) and Drug Court (DC) programs. This position is required to carry out the strategic intent and achieve the performance targets set for the MERIT and DC teams.
The Court Diversion Program (CDP) Manager will be required to effectively administer the day to day functioning of the programs, liaise closely with members of the legal system and community agencies, and provide direction and supervision to the MERIT and DC team leaders.
This position is responsible for ensuring that the clinical and corporate operations of the CDP’s are consistent with relevant Commonwealth, State and District policies.  
The Drug Court is a special court based at Parramatta which supervises the community based rehabilitation of drug dependent offenders. Once accepted onto the program, clients are provided with relevant counselling, treatment and case management services. All clients must be referred through the court.
Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment (MERIT) Program – The MERIT Program is a local court based voluntary diversion program which targets adult defendants with illicit drug use problems who are eligible for release on bail and motivated to undertake drug treatment. The program is three months in duration, reflecting the average local court bail period.
This position is based at George Street Liverpool.
