About the Opportunity
As a clinical psychologist in the inpatient psychology department, you will be assisting in providing clinical psychological service across the adult acute mental health units across Campbelltown Hospital. This gives the successful Clinical Psychologist to work dynamically with consumers with complex mental health needs, including psychosis, trauma, drug and alcohol, and forensic issues. You will have the opportunity to provide 1:1 psychological intervention, run group programs, and behavioural management support.
You will work with an enthusiastic team of health professionals which includes nurses, psychiatric registrars, consultant psychiatrists, social worker, occupational therapists, and diversional therapists.
The Clinical/Forensic Psychologist will also receive support, peer consultation, and supervision with other psychologists working in the district.
Clinical Psychology and Forensic Psychology Registrars will be considered for the role. Jobsharing will be considered for the right applicant.
What You'll be Doing
To deliver specialist psychological and psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, interventions and consultation in order to address the needs of consumers who are living with complex mental health problems and disorders.
The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD, according to organisational needs and if appropriate to the psychologists’ stage of professional development.

- Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration.
- Demonstrated competence in a wide range of psychological assessments and evidence based psychological treatments delivered on an individual and/or group basis
- Demonstrated experience working independently in the provision of patient/consumer-focused care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the quality improvement process for service development, implementation and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
