About the Opportunity 
An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Rehabilitation Unit (CRU) and the Medical Transit Unit (MTU) at Camden Hospital.  The Clinical Nurse Educator will support Camden Hospital staff and have a knowledge of Aged Care and Rehabilitation.

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator who will bring their expertise in preceptorship, mentorship, and leadership to foster a culture of continuous professional development.


The Clinical Nurse Educator plays a pivotal role in the growth and development of nursing staff through guidance, education, and support. You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to staff, using a variety of educational approaches to develop clinical capability, and ensuring the highest standards of nursing practice are upheld.




What You'll be Doing
Deliver and evaluate clinical education programs in consultation with Management, Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Consultants, to support the delivery of clinical best practice, patient service and enhanced patient outcomes.

 

Where You'll Be Working 
Camden Hospital, located in the small, rural town of Camden, is part of the diverse, South Western Sydney Local Health District.

This small hospital provides care to the local community in the fast growing Camden LGA. The hospital has a great team of dedicated staff who work as a close knit team to ensure the needs of the community are met and there is safe, quality and compassionate care provided to all patients who visit the hospital.

Camden Hospital works with its sister hospital at Campbelltown and specialises in select clinical services for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, namely rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.

Camden Hospital also maintains an eight-bed 24 hour Level 2 Emergency Department, and is the home site of the University Medical Clinic of Campbelltown and Camden (where specialist outpatient consultations are provided) and the Karitane Residential Family Care Unit.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a post graduate qualification in a relevant clinical field or education post graduate qualification or a combination of education training and clinical experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of competency-based assessment with experience in education / clinical teaching and developing clinical programs based on adult learning principles.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
