About the Opportunity
You will provide specialist interventions for children with a variety of needs, from developmental delays, play skills and sensory processing challenges to fine motor skill difficulties and daily living tasks. Your work will directly contribute to early intervention strategies, helping children achieve their full potential.
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Deliver advanced, person-centred care to paediatric clients and their families
- Apply clinical expertise in managing complex paediatric cases
- Work alongside community groups, educators & healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive support
- Develop and refine intervention strategies tailored to child development
- Mentor and supervise junior therapists, allied health assistants, and students
- Lead and contribute to paediatric-focused research & quality improvement
- Ensure compliance with NSW Health guidelines & evidence-based practices
Your role will be primarily based at Rosemeadow Community Health Centre and/or Waranwarin Allied Health Clinic (2 days), with some travel required across SWSLHD district sites to support junior staff and outreach programs as well as department meetings and district clinical network groups.

SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.
These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.
With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

- Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services within a varied paediatric caseload including working with children and their families with a range of clinical conditions and complex social backgrounds.
- Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence based practice and/or development of treatment protocols.
- Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
- Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff and/or students.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
