About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join the Liverpool Community Mental Health Service. In this pivotal role, you will deliver specialist psychological and psychosocial assessments, and evidence-based interventions within an assertive outreach model to support consumers living with complex mental health conditions. You will also provide expert consultation to the multidisciplinary team, contribute to the evaluation of clinical outcomes, and have the opportunity to develop and deliver education for staff. Additionally, you will supervise Psychologists across the Local Health District, supporting clinical excellence and professional growth.


What You'll Be Doing
To deliver specialist psychological and psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, interventions and consultation in order to address the needs of consumers who are living with complex mental health problems and disorders.

The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development
and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs.


Where You'll Be Working 

SWSLHD Community Mental Health Services provide comprehensive, community-based mental health care across South Western Sydney. 

These services cater to different age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older persons, ensuring specialised care throughout various life stages. The multidisciplinary teams offer a range of supports, including mental health assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and therapy. They work closely with inpatient services, GPs, and other community organisations to provide holistic care.

  1. Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia & completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent.
  2. Describe a time when you provided a complex clinical intervention that involved both assessment and treatment. How did you ensure the intervention was evidence-based, and how did you collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and the client’s support network throughout the process?
  3. Clinical Psychologists in this role are expected to contribute to service improvement and provide supervision to others. Can you share an example of a quality improvement initiative or clinical research project you’ve led or contributed to, and how you supported the development of other staff or students during that time.
  4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
