About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Dietetics Department at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital as a Dietitian Assistant. In this vital support role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality nutritional care for inpatients by managing daily menu selections, accommodating food preferences, and ensuring dietary requirements are met. You will be working closely with the Dietitians, patients and carers, ward staff and Food Services to ensure accurate and timely meal provision.

What You'll be Doing
This position is part of the [insert facility, services or LGA] Nutrition & Dietetics Department.  The Dietitian Assistant assists in maintaining a high standard of nutritional care for all inpatients by obtaining and managing daily menu choices, interviewing patients for their food preference, supporting the Dietitians in monitoring of oral intake and liaising with Food Services on the day to day provision of meals to patients.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.

The hospital receives highly diverse presentations in ED as well as having general medical and surgical services and sub-specialty services across the hospital. Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition &Dietetics) or Certificate III AHA (Nutrition &Dietetics) or equivalent qualification or minimum 12 months full-time equivalent relevant experience working as a Dietitian Assistant in a hospital with a commitment to commence Certificate IV within 12 months.
  2. Can you describe your knowledge and experience of nutrition, therapeutic diets & CBORD and how you ensure patients receive meals that align with their nutritional requirements?
  3. Describe your ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently giving examples from your most recent role as a dietitian assistant
  4. Give an example of a difficult customer service situation that you have dealt with? Describe how you managed the situation and what was the outcome?
