About the Opportunity
Join our team at Liverpool Hospital and become a key part of the newly established Renal Transplant Service, providing essential support to this innovative unit and other clinics within the renal department. This unique role offers the opportunity to deliver professional and efficient frontline support while maintaining positive, courteous relationships with internal and external clients. As a vital member of the Renal Administrative Team, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the Renal Transplant Unit, working collaboratively to ensure high-quality service delivery.

In this role, you will interact with a diverse group of stakeholders, including the multidisciplinary team, outpatient services staff, customers, and suppliers. Reporting to the Renal Head of Department, you will play a key role in ensuring the unit operates efficiently and effectively. Key responsibilities include managing administrative tasks to a high standard within set deadlines, adapting to changes, and fostering strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional time management skills, strong communication abilities, and the adaptability to thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment. You’ll also bring effective people management skills, enabling you to navigate and support the needs of various stakeholders with professionalism and empathy.

What You'll be Doing
The Renal Admin provides timely and efficient administrative support to the Clinics of the Renal Department and to work with other admin staff as well as provide support to the Renal Transplant Service based at Liverpool Hospital.

  

Where You'll Be Working 
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

  1. Previous secretarial or administrative experience including customer service and general office skills
  2. Excellent understanding of relevant booking systems to facilitate patient appointments and notifications
  3. Excellent organization skills with the ability to work under pressure, maintaining attention to detail and meet deadlines
  4. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of medical terminology
  5. Experience and understanding of patient billing systems
  6. Demonstrated high level computer skills including knowledge of hospital information systems and Microsoft applications
  7. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and under general instruction with minimal supervision
  8. Must be able to work on a Saturday to provide administrative support in lieu of weekday.
