What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Director of Medical Services and Head of Department (Orthopaedic Surgery), you will play an important role in providing Orthopaedic Services to patients presenting to the facility.

You will use your expert clinical and management skills to provide the highest levels of care to the patients who access your service. You will balance your clinical responsibilities with developing the service and take a supporting role in clinical governance, research & audit, service design projects and delivery of a top-class education framework for training and local medical officers.

You will be employed by Southern NSW Local Health District. The position is primarily located at the facility applied for. Secondary appointments within other facilities may occur by mutual agreement.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist orthopaedics .
  2. Demonstrated recent Clinical experience in Orthopaedics.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  4. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research and quality improvement.
  6. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases

This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2023_022.  All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.

All NSW Health Category A workers are required to have received at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
