Selection Criteria

  1. Current Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Knowledge and understanding of person-centred care, evidence-based practice and quality improvement
  3. Communicates effectively within a multidisciplinary team using information technology, written and verbal means.
  4. Demonstrated ability to use problem solving skills and a multidisciplinary team approach in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to practice in accordance with legislation, policies and within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse
  6. Have completed / willingness to complete (and where necessary be competency assessed for) any NSW Health training required for the role. Eg. for a Registered Nurse vaccinator this would be completion of: - The core and elective COVID-19 vaccination training modules from the COVID-19 Vaccination Training Program developed by the Commonwealth Department of Health in partnership with the Australian College of Nursing — see COVID-19 vaccination training program. - Have completed MyHealth Learning Vaccine Storage and Cold Chain Management module. - Have current cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (Basic Life Support) competency. - Have received prior training to recognise and manage anaphylaxis including the use of adrenaline (epinephrine).
  7. Current unrestricted driver's license and the ability to mainrain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases 
This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2020_017.   All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy.


OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs
 

All NSW Health workers are required to have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by 30 September 2021 and two doses by 30 November 2021 or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. You will be required to provide a record of your COVID-19 vaccination status if successful.
