Staff Specialist - Neurology
The ideal candidate will have...
- Current medical practitioner, registered or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), specialist recognition as a Neurologist by AHPRA and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award. A higher degree and/or fellowship in Neurophysiology is a requirement and qualification in clinical epidemiology is preferred.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in neuromuscular diagnosis and management with experience in diagnosis and management of concussion /mild head injury required to ensure continuity of existing clinical services.
- Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of clinical neurophysiology is required, including expertise in performing complex inpatient and outpatient nerve conduction studies, needle EMG, single fibre EMG and motor evoked potentials and in interpretation of SSEPs and VEPs and sufficient knowledge to train and supervise technicians and/or nurses in these techniques is essential.
