About the Role
Community Mental Health Services provide a range of services designed to help support the recovery and help consumer stay well in the community. The team provide specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people. Community mental health services include a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers and Peer Support Workers. Our main sites are at Canterbury, Croydon, Camperdown, Marrickville, and Redfern Community Health Services. The role will be based at Camperdown.
The Senior Clinician (Clinical Nurse Consultant / Allied Health Level 4) provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service which:
- Develops implements and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs.
- Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice.
- Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
- Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs.
- Participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.

Ideal Candidate
- Must hold a Bachelor or post graduate degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work that provides eligibility for full membership of the relevant professional association and/or AHPRA. For Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 must have a minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience with at least 3 years full time equivalent Mental Health experience.
- Understanding of and commitment to recovery-oriented services and consumer involvement in service design, implementation and evaluation.
- Demonstrated advanced skills in the comprehensive assessment and management of complex mental health presentations.
