Registered Nurse to join our Cath Lab team.

About the role

The Cardiac Catheter Lab and Day Stay Unit is a dynamic unit in which the successful applicant will encounter multiple cutting edge cardiovascular procedures and provides a 24 hr, 7 day-a-week emergency cover.
 
In this role, you will participate in pre and post procedural care of the patient in the Cardiac Day Stay Unit as well as rotate to the lab to scrub/scout for interventional cardiac, vascular, electrophysiology, implantable devices, and TAVI procedures.
 
The Cardiac Day Stay Unit operates 0700 - 1930hrs, Monday to Friday and the Cath Lab procedural rooms operate during business hours, Monday to Friday with an on-call service covering out of hours emergency cases.

 

We are looking for someone who has

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • More than 3 years nursing experience in acute clinical settings i.e. ICU/ED or CCU
  • More than 12 months Cath Lab experience is preferred
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a high functioning team
  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to attend call backs within 30 minutes
  • Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity

About working for SLHD

This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2023_030).

 
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form – IM011 form). 
 
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
