About the Role

Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) has a long and proud history of delivering care in the community including prevention, early intervention, assessment, treatment, health maintenance and continuing care services designed to improve and support the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.
 
This new Physiotherapist role in Pain Management will work in collaboration with SLHD Palliative Care Teams. The successful applicant will have clinical experience and skills in the physiotherapy management of patients with chronic pain, particularly associated with a cancer diagnosis. This position is based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital; however, the successful applicant will provide patient consultations at both Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Repatriation General Hospital Pain Clinics and outreach service. The role involves a focus on assessment and symptom management, rehabilitation and education. Community based home visits will also required.

Ideal Candidate

  • Current AHPRA Physiotherapy Registration and degree, or equivalent, in Physiotherapy, ensuring eligibility for full membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association with experience at Level 2 or higher.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of Physiotherapy.
  • Ability to independently problem solve, apply professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • High level verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
