Where you'll be working

What you'll be doing

The Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians provide technical support to the Pharmacy Department in all areas of pharmacy practice, including dispensing, production, distribution and clinical activities.

Royal Prince Alfred, Concord Repatriation General and Canterbury Hospital are seeking 3rd and 4th year pharmacy students as casual pharmacy assistants/technicians. Successful candidates will be provided the opportunity to work alongside a  team of pharmacists, and technical and support staff in a dynamic hospital environment to provide a quality service to patients and their families and carers. 


Pharmacy assistants and technicians provide technical support to the Pharmacy Department in all areas of pharmacy practice, including dispensing, production, distribution, and clinical activities.

To be Considered For This Role You Must Have The Following:
Candidates must be actively enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year undergraduate Bachelor of  Pharmacy or 2nd year  Master of Pharmacy degree and be willing and available to work at all hospitals within the Sydney Local Health District.



Selection Criteria

  • Recent relevant work experience in pharmacy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Demonstrated experience with pharmacy computer systems.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service.
  • Completion of a Certificate III (or willing to undertake) or Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Pharmacy Support or relevant qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent; competency in dispensing, non-sterile production and ward distribution; and ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations (Technician Grades only).
