Rivendell School is located within the historic Thomas Walker Estate at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, it also shares the grounds with Rivendell Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Service. The school is staffed by psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and registered nurses. All working colaboratory together to achieve results for their patients.
This position provides evidence based assessment, case formulation and treatments to children and adolescents 5 years up to 18 years with severe and complex emotional disturbance, including young people with a diagnosable psychiatric disorder, who have not benefited from less intensive interventions. Treatments include discipline specific assessments and interventions within the discipline of Occupational Therapy and expert mental health interventions such individual, family and group interventions. A component of the role is to develop the service approach to virtual health services including Intake and assessment and where appropriate follow-up.
Ideal Candidate
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and full AHPRA registration, with experience at Level 2 or higher.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of Occupational therapy clinical services in Mental health services including children and adolescents with a mental illness and their families and carers.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and evaluate quality improvement initiatives and/or research focused on patient/client outcomes.
