About the Opportunity
The Manager Medical Workforce Programs works within the SLHD Executive Medical Services and has a key liaison role across all SLHD hospitals, facilities and services. The Manager will establish and manage the SLHD-wide Medical Workforce systems and procedures, focusing on best practice for medical workforce management and governance. The Manager will provide key expert support to those involved in medical workforce management, working in concert to ensure streamlined appointment, credentialing and end-to-end management of Medical Workforce, as well as establishing policies, procedures and frameworks for enhanced reporting functionality and capability.
In particular, the Manager Medical Workforce Programs will be the lead for continuing to implement the NSW State Scopes of Practice and eCredential across SLHD, with a focus on best practice in medical workforce management, supported by focus on achieving optimal outcomes, recognised stakeholder support and operational paradigms such as allocated timeframes and financial aspects of medical workforce management.
The Manager Medical Workforce Programs has a senior advisory role and will partner and participate with medical department heads, senior hospital executives and managers, facilities and operational divisions to enhance and facilitate the processes of medical workforce management and will maintain excellent communication and interpersonal links across SLHD and engage and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders and agencies as required.

Ideal Candidate
- Developed and effective management, negotiation and delegation skills with ability to initiate change, make complex judgements and work independently.
- Experience in the management of a medical workforce unit or similar function in a large health organisation with sound understanding of the principles of relevant Industrial Awards, Agreements, Determinations and other relevant policy and/or legislative instruments governing the employment and appointment of medical practitioners in New South Wales.
