About the Role
Balmain Hospital is a community-based healthcare facility that has been caring for local people since 1885. It is dedicated to Aged Care, Rehabilitation and General Practice. Balmain Hospital is committed to providing the highest standards of healthcare to meet individual needs.
    The purpose of this position is to assist the Manager in daily clerical duties as well as computer based tasks assisting in quality improvement. Through auditing, data cleaning and entry. This position is responsible for a wide range of Health Information and Record Service including medical record control management, release of information, patient administration system quality checks and controls, management of medico-legal requests and participation in a number of quality activities. To ensure confidentiality in handling of patient’s personal information in accordance with NSW Health’s Code of Conduct.
      
    This position must ensure that medical record clerk delivers a friendly, high quality service at all times and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

    Ideal Candidate

    • Experience in a medical record department and/ or hospital environment using PAS system (Cerner and Powerchart) or similar.
    • Proficient writing and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Excellent organisation skills with the capacity to work under pressure, maintaining attention to details and meeting deadlines.
