About the Organisation

The Harm Reduction Program provides a number of services that aim to reduce the transmission of blood borne viruses. This includes the Needle and Syringe Program, which is an evidence based public health program that provides sterile injecting equipment, peer support and healthcare navigation to people who inject drugs. Additionally, the Primary Health Care service offers multidisciplinary assessment, treatment and referral for vulnerable people including those who inject drugs.

  

About the Opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership and management of frontline clinical services of the Needle Syringe Program including primary and secondary service delivery, and the Primary Health Care Clinic, across multiple sites within SLHD in line with Ministry of Health policy and guidelines and evidence-based practice. You are expected to pursue the optimal performance of the program through effective leadership of multidisciplinary teams and the collaborative development of strategic alliances with relevant stakeholders including consumers, health services, other government departments/agencies and private and non-government organisations.

Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in health management or health service planning and delivery.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the application of harm minimisation principles, and relevant National and State policies.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
