Concord Hospital Medical Workforce Unit is seeking a highly motivated manager to undertake Junior Medical Officer Compliance

Concord Repatriation General Hospital is a principal referral facility and a teaching hospital of the University of Sydney. We offer a comprehensive range of specialty and sub-specialty services, many recognised nationally and internationally as centres of excellence. Major services include geriatrics and rehabilitation medicine, cardiology, neurology and neurosurgery, colorectal and laparoscopic surgery, gastroenterology,  bone and joint services, cancer services, haematology, respiratory medicine and sleep studies, molecular biology and genetics, and those provided through the internationally acknowledged Statewide Burns Service, in which Concord plays a major part.

   

About the role

The Medical Allocations and Development Unit (MADU) Junior Medical Compliance Officer will play a key role in supporting the Manager and staff of MADU along with the Directors of Prevocational Education and Training (DPET) and Medical Education (DME). With primary responsibility for managing reporting and audits for leave, unrostered overtime and ADO compliance as well as RUM processing, this position requires someone with experience in these areas as well as medical recruitment at the JMO level. You will be involved in recruitment, education and training and other professional functions relating to the medical workforce. This position will support junior doctors at Concord Hospital therefore excellent communication with all stakeholders is essential.  Candidates will need to be organised, flexible and able to meet tight deadlines for a constantly changing medical workforce.  Proficiency with excel and data interpretation is a key requirement.

  • Ability to prepare and distribute audits, reporting and credentialling.
  • Commitment to ensuring a high level of service from Medical Allocations Unit to its stakeholders i.e. junior medical officers. Monitor, adjust and resolve employment enquiries of junior medical officers.
  • Personal qualities of tact, discretion, initiative and judgement.

Selection Criteria

  1. Experience in and understanding of processes involved with Medical Board requirements, Department of Immigration and guidelines and College credentialing for medical officers.
  2. Extensive experience in health administration for medical officers with previous experience of HealthRosters, Roster Unit Manager and Stafflink.
  3. Possess knowledge, experience and understanding of policies and processes regarding medical recruitment, onboarding and credentialing.
  4. Ability to monitor workflow, allocate priorities and meet deadlines in relation to mandatory training for medical officers and departmental audits.
  5. Commitment to ensuring a high level of service from Medical Administration to its stakeholders and possess personal qualities of tact, discretion, initiative and judgment.
  6. Possess a high order of verbal and written communication negotiation skills coupled with conflict resolution skills. Is comprehensive in all computer Microsoft Office Programs.
