The Allied Health Assistant in Dietetics supports the clinical Dietitian to implement patient nutrition care plans and provide optimal nutrition care for all patients; this includes nutrition risk screening, referral of ‘at risk’ patients and provision of nutrition interventions including simple nutrition education/advice. Allied Health Assistants in Dietetics act as a liaison between the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, nursing staff and food services.

Ideal Candidate
- Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistant (Nutrition & Dietetics), Dietary Practices Certificate or Home Economics Certificate or equivalent, or demonstrated substantial experience in a similar position.
- Computer skills and demonstrated knowledge of CBORD Diet Office program and its role in patient nutrition care provision.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of therapeutic diets and understanding of food habits and eating patterns in the community.
