Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking dynamic Mental Health Clinicians to join our Community Mental Health team!


Are you a Mental Health Clinician with demonstrated competencies to provide contemporary mental health practice and understanding of and commitment to recovery oriented services and consumer involvement in service provision?


The Community Mental Health/Core Team model of care states:

The “Community Mental Health Team” (Core Team) is the mainstay of the community mental health system. Core Teams and provide a range of clinical services including intake, assessment, consultation, treatment ,and care coordination. Care coordination is the main component of this model of care and includes extended care coordination, targeted packages of care, and short term care coordination.

Consumers under the care of Core Teams will either have:
  1. Short term interventions and may be discharged or referred back to their GPs or other treatment providers after a period of weeks or months.
  2. A period of treatment as recommended by evidence based practices.
  3. Ongoing care and monitoring for prolonged periods.


The Mental Health Clinician will practice in keeping with the standardised Sydney LHD position description for the profession in addition to this position description.

This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2020 017).
