About the Role 

This role will be based across Camperdown Youth Mental Health Service and Headspace Ashfield.

The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service model of care states: Care coordination is the main component of this model of care. 

The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service aims:

  1. To provide effective care during the critical early phase of illness. This involves proactive engagement and initiation of clinical therapies.
  2. To reduce the duration of untreated psychosis, limit the impact of a first episode of psychosis, foster hope that recovery is possible and maximise the quality of life of consumers, carers, and their families.
  3. To work in partnership with other agencies to provide psychosocial interventions aiming for maximal symptomatic and functional recovery and prevention of relapse.
  4. To utilise co located clinical and research models with a view to enhancing learning and improving care.
  5. To have a shared vision with co-located services.

The Clinical Psychologist will practice in keeping with the standardised Sydney LHD position description for the profession in addition to this position description.

Ideal Candidate

  • Recognised tertiary qualifications appropriate to Clinical Psychology and full current registration with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated competencies to provide contemporary mental health practice.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
