About the Role 

The clinical psychologist will provide needs-assessed psychological care and services as part of an integrated mental health service. The duties of a clinical psychologist in service delivery will also include psychological assessment, formulation, care planning, targeted psychological interventions, treatment, evaluation and liaison with relevant agencies. The focus in this position is adults with mental health problems

The position is based in the Camperdown Community Mental Health Team (Core Team). The 'Community Mental Health Team' (CMHT) is the mainstay of the community mental health system - the 'core team'. The CMHT's priority is coordinated care for two groups of people: 

  • Some consumers treated by the CMHT will have time limited disorders and be referred back to their GP's after a period or months (eg after 1- 6 contacts) when their condition has improved.
  • Other consumers will remain with the team for ongoing treatment, care and monitoring for prolonged periods 6 months to several years or longer. 

The role includes evidence based care coordination taking a whole of life approach and ensuring continuity of care to individuals and their families and carers. The role includes re integration into community following inpatient admission.

Ideal Candidate

  1. Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist and Endorsement /Eligibility for Endorsement to the Clinical College and a Clinical Doctorate/Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology.
  2. Recent Mental Health experience and knowledge in a wide range of psychological assessment procedures and specific training and experience in cognitive-behavioural and other evidence based psychological treatments delivered on an individual or group basis.
  3. Current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
