Selection Criteria
- Must have an undergraduate degree in a non-nursing, non-medical discipline and in addition hold a post graduate qualification in genetic counselling or have attained Part I certification in genetics counselling from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia.
- Demonstrated ability to provide Genetic Counselling with minimal direct supervision
- Working knowledge of Genetic Counselling, including the medical, genetic and psychosocial aspects.
- Experience in dealing with privacy, confidentiality and ethical issues related to the process of genetic counselling.
- Experience in the use of client management and genetic databases and pedigree drawing software.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member and independently with excellent communication skills.
