About the Opportunity
In this role, you are expected to provide operational and strategic management of the Population Health Aboriginal Team and support Population Health Aboriginal programs of work, in line with the Ministry of Health and the Sydney Local Health District's goals, principles, and strategies, and help the district meet relevant key performance indicators.
This position provides leadership and manages the design, implementation, and evaluation of Population Health Aboriginal projects and initiatives aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities in SLHD. You will be contributing to the development and implementation of District and Population Health Aboriginal strategic directions, lead Population Health Aboriginal activities and deliver evidence-based, innovative programs and initiatives that are integrated with internal and external stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate
- Good understanding of Aboriginal Health issues including cultural beliefs and practices, and the social determinants of health that impact Aboriginal communities. Good knowledge of population health principles, including disease prevention, health promotion, health equity and public health.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team, manage resources, and develop and implement projects and programs.
This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
