About the Role

Population Health works to protect and promote the health of the local population. We recognise that many personal, local and global factors affect health and illness. Our services work with partners to deliver a comprehensive range of high quality, evidence-based health programs to the population living in Sydney Local Health District. Ultimately, Population Health strives to achieve equity of health status and health service utilisation across the population.

 

The position is responsible for leading the Sydney Local Health District response for Safer Pathway (Safety Action Meetings) NSW Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Reforms in collaboration with relevant clinical services. This position will collaborate with relevant SLHD workforce and key interagency partners to work in an integrated manner to reduce threats to adult and children victims of domestic and family violence. The role has a strong focus on managing the Safety Action Meeting Process and includes provision and coordination of domestic violence related clinical supervision and workforce education.

Ideal Candidate

  • Being female is recognised as a genuine occupation qualification and is authorised under section 31(2h) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
  • Holds a degree or equivalent in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the AASW. 
  • High level skills, experience and use of high level professional judgement in providing responses to victims of domestic and family violence and their children and knowledge of health service delivery and referral options for these clients; including legislative and policy context. 
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
