The Behavioural Escalation Support Team (B.E.S.T) is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team!
About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a Registered Nurse position as a member of B.E.S.T at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
B.E.S.T is an innovative clinical team designed to role model and support clinical staff in the proactive Identification, Escalation and Management of patients at risk of and experiencing Acute Behavioural Disturbance (ABD) and other behaviour support needs. B.E.S.T. provides clinical support to all members of the multidisciplinary team with a focus on inpatient acute care and specialty units including, Emergency Department, Intensive Care and Operating Theatres.
The primary purpose of the Registered Nurse position is to deliver direct patient care and develop behaviour management strategies and plans; to support the care of people whose behaviour impacts their own care and safety and/or the safety of other patients and staff.
The position works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and will be provided formal and structured group supervision, appropriate training and support. The successful candidate will be expected to work 12-hour morning shifts over a seven-day rotating roster. We are looking for a Registered Nurse with recent clinical experience in an acute care setting and experience in recognising and responding to patients in emergent behavioural situations. Ideal Candidate:
- Must hold a Bachelor or post graduate degree in Nursing and have a current registration with AHPRA to practice
- Qualifications as above, knowledge and experience working with patients exhibiting challenging behaviours and acute severe behavioural disturbance
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, role modelling care and providing support to other clinicians, patients, carers and families
