About the Role

An exciting secondment opportunity exists for a suitably qualified clinician with an interest in digital health to join the Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) and Balmain Health Informatics Team. In this role you will contribute to digital health and electronic medical record (eMR) system initiatives, assist with workflow analysis and design, and play a key part in preparing clinical teams for digital change and the Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR). The role works across both Balmain and RPA Hospitals.

 

This position is designed to be a senior clinician with unique subsets of both generalised and specialised skill mixes who will work to ensure success in the implementation, deployment, adopting, maintaining, and optimisation of the eMR and digital health technologies, whilst managing local risks across RPA and Balmain Hospitals. 

 

The eClinician will work under the direction of and in partnership with the Nurse Manager Health Informatics, Clinical Staff and Digital Health and Innovation (DH&I) in reviewing current and future clinical workflows, assisting with change management, preparing clinical staff prior to new eHealth implementations, whilst providing ongoing support and education to clinical staff of all disciplines.

 

The role will exercise delegated autonomy and leadership in the analysis and response in supporting clinicians adopting and adapting clinical practices as required by technological advances.

Ideal Candidate

  • Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife/Allied Health Professional with tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Podiatry, Social Work with APRHA registration and/or eligibility for membership of appropriate Professional Association. 
  • For Nursing applicants: relevant post registration qualification/s and at least 3 years experience working in a clinical area of their specified post- registration qualification; b) For Allied Health applicants: extensive clinical experience in an acute clinical setting.
